Black Arts Movement

The Black Arts Movement Art Show is an exhibition to initiate momentum while elevating Black voices in San Jose. In a world that is often opaque, intimidating, and exclusionary—1Culture’s intentions are to further enhance representation in both the art world and urban landscape. We have invited several unique artists from different backgrounds and journeys to share their stories about identity, history, and advocacy; all pertaining to the Black experience. Not only will their voice be inside the four walls of our gallery, but various murals will go up in honor of our brothers and sisters. Please join us on June 23rd and 24th as we continue our journey to diversify San Jose.
