The Zapotec, one of the earliest Mesoamerican cultures, flourished in Central Mexico around the region that is now known as Oaxaca. These indigenous communities were known as the People of the Cloud. I wanted to honor them by creating a piece that uses natural elements that connects the Earth and the Sky.
